Australian motocross rider Robbie "Maddo" Maddison broke the world motorcycle jumping record News Years eve, in Las Vegas, just after the famous ball drop in New York City. There was a slight head wind with his first jump that was 322'-7 1/2" (98.35m).After talking with reporters, then decided to make a second jump which he did landing just short of the first one.He landed perfectly on both jumps. "Maddo" had hopes of setting the record at around 360 ft(109m)which he had done previously in practice runs."I'm just starting to realise what I did," the 26-year-old said last night. "This is just my life, this is what I've done, this is what I've worked so hard for and I just did it."
He dedicated his record-breaking jump to Evel Knievel, who died last November.
Maddison is planning to beat his new record at an event in Melbourne in March.
"I know I'm definitely going to do it," he said.
